BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA / KFTA) – Walmart is adjusting its services by not offering its customers contact payment, pickup and delivery options, the company announced on Friday.

No contact payment

Checking out at Walmart will be complete If you’re using Walmart Pay on the Walmart app in the coming week, you can contact any registry, the Bentonville-based retailer said.

Previously, customers were forced to choose a payment method by touching a screen or during self-checkout.

Now all customers using a smartphone can scan a QR code to sync their Walmart Pay.

No contact pick-up and delivery

As more Americans rely on pickup and delivery services to avoid contact with others, the company is adding another security measure.

For pickup customers, Walmart says you can open your trunk and have a member of staff load the groceries without asking you to sign the order.

For delivery, the company says it will bypass the signature as well, and asks the delivery staff to leave the order on the customer’s doorstep.

“The way we all live and shop is changing. We know that customers want and need to be served differently, ”said Janey Whiteside, EVP and Walmart Chief Customer Officer.
