Walmart moving towards no contact payment, delivery and pickup amid coronavirus outbreak
Walmart is committed to serving its customers differently during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
BENTONVILLE, Ark – Walmart plans to serve customers differently during the pandonavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
In the near future, the world’s largest retailer will no longer offer its customers contact services for payment, collection and delivery options.
It’s a step in adding another layer of security to their customers and employees, Walmart said in a press release.
Pay no contact
For the coming week, Walmart will be contacting for free on every tab when customers use Walmart Pay on the Walmart app.
Instead of touching a screen during self-checkout, customers can use a smartphone to scan a QR code synchronized with Walmart Pay. This enables customers to pay completely contact-free.
No contact pickup & delivery
Collection customers only have to open their trunk and employees load their groceries. It is no longer necessary to sign an order.
Signatures are also bypassed on delivery. Walmart is asking delivery workers to keep customers’ orders on their doorstep.
