Tesla, FLIR, Roku, Magellan Health – Monday’s Premarket Movers

Stock futures rose on Monday, the first day of trading in 2021, as investors continued to be bullish on the coronavirus vaccines.

Here are some of the top movers during Monday’s premarket trading.

1. Tesla TSLA | Plus 2.17%

Tesla shares (TSLA) – Get the report rose in premarket trading on Monday as investors cheered the electric car maker’s record delivery of nearly 500,000 vehicles last year.

Tesla delivered 180,570 of its Model S / X and Model 3 / Y sedans in the three months ended December. This corresponds to an increase of 61.2% compared to the same period of the previous year. This put Tesla at 499,550 at the end of the year, just below the company’s target of 500,000.

Total Tesla year-end production was 509,737 vehicles, up 71.4% in the fourth quarter to a record 179,757.

2nd YEAR OF THE YEAR | Plus 2.87%

Shares of Roku (YEAR) – Get the report rose in premarket trade following a report that the popular streaming media provider was in advanced talks to buy Quibi, a short-form streaming service.

Quibi, founded by movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg and led by former Hewlett-Packward CEO Meg Whitman, raised $ 1.75 billion with an ambitious plan to develop high-end content for cellphones. But the service, which started in April, never gained traction and said in October that it was shut down.

3. MGM Resorts MGM | Plus 0.51%

Shares of MGM Resorts (MGM) – Get the report were slightly higher in premarket trading after UK gaming company Entain rejected the casino operator’s £ 8.1 billion ($ 11.1 billion) offer and undervalued the company.

4. Magellan Health MGLN | Plus 11.78%

Shares of Magellan Health (MGLN) – Get the report jumped into premarket trading after health insurer Centene agreed to buy the company for $ 95 per share in cash for a total enterprise value of $ 2.2 billion.

Magellan Health will add 5.5 million new members to Centene’s government sponsored health plans as well as 18 million third party specialty health service customers.

It will also add 2 million members of the Pharmacy Benefit Manager and 16 million members of the medical pharmacy.

5. Flir Systems FLIR | Up 21.72%

Flir Systems shares (FLIR) – Get the report jumped in the premarket trade after the manufacturer of electronic sensor technology Teledyne Technologies (TDY) – Get the report agreed to buy the thermal imaging technology and hardware provider in a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $ 8 billion.
