Surge in delivery services on Gig economy app led iTask to create their own delivery service | Taiwan News

Users can have cakes, flowers, and packages delivered to their doorstep starting at $ 4.50

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – February 3, 2021 – The delivery boom in the pandemic has prompted iTask to set up its own delivery service called iTask Delivery.

The service market platform available in Singapore and Malaysia saw the number of on-board service providers increase by 62% over the past year, outperforming the same period in 2019.

In particular, delivery service providers grew by 9% compared to the period before COVID-19.

From April 2020 to June 2020, Singaporeans were advised to stay home during the breaker, which resulted in many of them opting for delivery services. As a result, delivery requests on iTask increased 600% in 2020 compared to 2019.

These inquiries continue to grow, and iTask received approximately 500 inquiries in the last quarter.

Marcus Cheah, founder of iTask, created iTask Delivery to make delivery accessible and affordable. “Our platform has seen an increase in delivery demand due to the coronavirus outbreak. As consumers stay at home, everyone is choosing to eat online, and business owners are visiting our platform to search for delivery services at affordable prices.”

Starting at $ 4.50, iTask offers standard island-wide delivery for packages weighing up to 30 kg. Packages are usually delivered within 1 to 3 working days. Users with urgent needs can opt for same-day delivery service with a maximum volume of 30kg from $ 7.50.

Marcus Cheah works with a trusted and verified local delivery company to deliver the orders. “We work with trusted and verified local delivery companies because the quality of our delivery service always comes first at iTask. Entrepreneurs can focus on their business and leave the logistics to us.”

Deliver with ease

Using iTask Delivery is quick and easy. All users need to do is fill in their pickup and return and some additional details such as the type of item and its weight. A delivery person is then assigned to them.

There is also the option to schedule the pick-up on the date you want by choosing from three different periods of the day – morning, afternoon and evening.

From pickup to drop-off, users can check their booking status to see delivery progress. iTask also sends users constant notifications to keep them informed every step of the way.

Special care for cakes, cookies and flowers

Cheah noticed a growing interest in seeing Singaporeans buying cakes, cookies, and flowers for loved ones and decided to offer delivery for these items.

Since they must be carefully managed by their nature, iTask will hire an experienced delivery person who is experienced in delivering such items. This way you can ensure that the articles are handled with the utmost care at all times.

Currently, iTask Delivery is only available in Singapore, but there are plans to expand it to Malaysia as well. “We are working with the local driving community in Malaysia and plan to launch in the second quarter of this year,” said Cheah.

Cheah hopes the new service will make the local community more convenient. “iTask Delivery is changing the way the local community searches for delivery services.”
