Sony Corp Ord (NYSE:SNE), Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) – PlayStation 5 Is So Hard To Get, People Are Robbing Moving Delivery Trucks

Like something straight out of the The Fast and The Furious movie franchise, thieves aim to move delivery trucks to steal PlayStation 5s.

What happened: The Times reports that gangs in the US have stepped up the “rollover” technique used to steal items such as PlayStation 5s, cell phones and cosmetics from moving vans.

The move involves several cars boxing in a moving van. A person exits the tethered rear car, gains access to the back door of the truck, and then throws items from the truck back to the vehicle that follows behind.

The UK police have warned delivery companies and are suggesting adding security measures or alternative routes.

Why it matters: The PlayStation 5 from Sony Corporation (NYSE: SNE) has sold well, causing supply chain problems due to demand.

IGN reports Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) has increased security for warehouses and delivery drivers.

Demand for the PlayStation 5 could give Sony a strong Christmas season, when Benzinga could be the last major console war, according to an expert.

SNE price promotion: Sony shares closed 1.1% on Monday to $ 93.36.
