People movers: InterLinc Mortgage Services, Invictus Capital Partners, Western Alliance Bank
To kick off this week’s line of executives, InterLinc mortgage services promoted to CEO Gene Thompson, who has served as President since 2010. Thompson is replacing James VanSteenhouse, the current CEO and founder, who will take on the role of Chairman of the Board.
Thompson led the company through its most successful year ever, funding over $ 2.5 billion annual production in 2020, with 73% coming from origins of purchase. Thompson began his mortgage career as an originator, worked his way up to regional manager and eventually started his own company. Texas Capital Lending.
Invictus Capital Partners, an alternative investment management firm, has appointed Doug Kinney as senior managing director, head of investor relations. Kinney most recently served as managing partner and co-head of the fundraising and investor relations team BentallGreenOakand brings more than 25 years of experience to his new role.
Kinney also held senior positions The Carlyle Group, Greenhill & Co.., Credit Suisse Real Estate private fund group, Heitman / PRA Securities Advisors and Heitman / JMB Realty Corporation.
Closing out this week’s people mover announcements, Western Alliance Bank named Jim Karr national sales manager for his correspondent mortgage solutions team, which is part of the bank’s Specialized Mortgage Services group.
In the new role, Karr will be responsible for creating tailored financing options through a selection of specialized loan purchase programs to meet the needs of residential mortgage lenders across the country. Karr last served Galton Fundingwhere he was a senior executive bringing nearly three decades of correspondent lending experience to his new role in the mortgage banking business.
