“PICKUP is thrilled to offer trusted, instant delivery in Houston,” said founder and CEO Brenda Stoner in a press release. “Everyone needs help moving large items, be it from a retail showroom to their home to enable their business or to solve certain relocation problems. PICKUP’s Good Guy Drivers are now available to serve customers in the greater Houston area help.”

The Dallas-based company was founded in 2014. Most of its drivers are military veterans, firefighters, and other off-duty officials.

Users can download the PICKUP app on iTunes and Google Play. When they’re ready to move, users open the app and hire a driver to pick up their items right away. If you prefer, you can plan your move in advance.

And if they don’t have a smartphone, users can schedule a pickup at pickupnow.com or by calling 1-800-560-2168.

The minimum cost is $ 45, but the average cost is around $ 70. Users are encouraged to tip the driver and items are insured up to $ 20,000.

“Think of us as your go-to place when you need to move big things,” Stoner said in the press release. “Consumers and businesses want items to be delivered when they purchase. PICKUP’s Immediate Delivery is faster than same-day delivery and a great solution for that last quick mile from the store or distribution center to the customer. We’re filling that void for businesses and retailers alike. who often lose sales when people discover their item can’t be delivered the same day. “
