City of Temple Opens Water Filling Stations, Bottle Pickup Points

The city of Temple has set up water stations and opened a bottled water pick-up point Friday afternoon after much of the city was under notice of boiling water.

The City of the Temple will have limited amounts of bottled water to be distributed to affected citizens from 2 p.m. in the following locations:

TO UPDATE: Grace Temple Ministries at 801 S. 13th Street has been added as a bottle distribution location.

Water is limited to one case per household while supplies last. Distribution points close on Friday at 6 p.m., but reopen on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please only take water if you absolutely need it. Many people are currently without a water supply and urgently need this help.

“With roads clearing and better conditions today, the Temple Police Department’s transportation services will be suspended on Saturday, February 20 at 12 noon,” city spokesman Cody Weems wrote in a Friday afternoon press release. “The PD transportation services will then shift resources to provide water for those unable to get to water distribution points. The transportation services will continue to be provided for those who need to leave thermal shelter by Saturday, February 20th if they have a water distribution point or need transportation home from an animal shelter, please call 254.298.5550. “

In the meantime, water customers east of I-35 at Temple are advised to boil all water until further notice before using it.
