Chevrolet Silverado Electric Pickup Truck To Be Built At Factory ZERO Plant
(RTTNews) – General Motors Co. (GM) Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck is being built at the company’s Factory ZERO assembly plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. General Motors has not yet announced the production schedule for the electric vehicle, which is expected to hit the market in early 2023 as the 2024 model. The full-size Chevrolet Silverado electric pickup truck is modeled upwards as an electric vehicle, combining the best of Ultium Platform and Silverado’s proven capabilities. Once fully charged, the electric pickup will provide a GM-estimated range of more than 400 miles. Company President Mark Reuss also confirmed that the GMC Hummer EV SUV will soon be coming out of the Factory Zero Assembly plant as well.
He commented, “Factory ZERO vehicles will change the world and how the world sees electric vehicles. The GMC HUMMER EV SUV joins its peer in the real-life super truck space, and Chevrolet will take away everything that Chevy’s loyal truck buyers love about Silverado – and more – and plug it into an electric pickup that will delight both private and commercial customers. “
General Motors said the electric pickup will be available in retail and fleet versions, giving customers many options to choose from and therefore seeing increased demand.
