Here is a selection of people who are taking on new roles at HLM Architects, Adare Manor, Kinetic, Xtremepush, the Irish Pension Planning Council and Mazars.
Emma-Louise Hannigan has been named Head of Education at HLM Architects’ Belfast studio. She brings 10 years of experience in Australia with Woods Bagot Architects from Melbourne and works on the planning, design and implementation of new generation learning spaces. She led teams of up to 15 in-house employees for Woods Bagot on projects valued at A $ 1 million to A $ 60 million and a size of 1,000 m2 to 26,000 m2. Emma-Louise studied architecture at University College Dublin and Queen’s University Belfast. HLM was recently named Architecture Firm of the Year 2020 by Building Magazine. It has studios in London, Sheffield, Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and Dubai.
Brendan O’Connor has been promoted to General Manager of Adare Manor, the five-star castle on 840 acres in Adare, Co Limerick. He brings 18 years of experience in the global premium hospitality industry to the role. He joined Adare Manor in 2015 as Director of Food and Beverage and led an extensive restoration project. In 2018 he was promoted to resident manager. Previously, he held senior positions in hotels around the world, including the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman, the Sheen Falls Hotel in Kerry and the Waldorf Astoria in New York. During the Summer and Winter Olympics, he also held senior positions in hospitality management, which gave him experience with high-profile sporting events. Adare Manor will host the prestigious Ryder Cup in 2027.
Ciara Gibney has been promoted to Marketing Manager at the OOH communications agency Kinetic. She will be responsible for implementing Kinetic’s external digital communications strategy. Working closely with senior management, she will take an active role in the company’s overall communications strategy, using her traditional digital marketing and social media skills to actively engage with key audiences and brands. She joined Kinetic in 2016 as Operations Executive, where she developed her traditional and digital marketing skills. She was promoted to Senior Account Executive on the Marketing team in 2019. Ciara holds degrees in Marketing, Digital Media and Cloud Computing from Dublin Business School.
Ross O’Connor has been named Director of Account Management at Xtremepush, the Irish-owned global SaaS customer loyalty platform headquartered in Dublin. He will oversee teams in Ireland, the UK and the US. He has experience building companies in the global MarTech and SaaS industry. For the past 10 years he has led teams at Google, RTÉ and NextRoll, formerly the AdRoll Group. Ross holds an MSc and a BSc in Marketing from TUD and is a graduate of UCD Smurfit School with postgraduate qualifications in Leadership, Innovation and Change and High Performance Sales. Xtremepush’s clients include Bank of Ireland, AIB and daa, Irish Times and Supermacs, and the North American business for Groupe Dynamite, Piping Rock, Oregon State Lottery and Penn International Gaming.
Laura Farrell has been named CEO of the Retirement Planning Council of Ireland (RPCI), the body that helps people transition from work to retirement. She joins RPCI from Insurance Ireland where she served as Chief Membership Engagement Officer. She has also held senior positions in executive education, multimedia and corporate banking. She will work closely with the Board of Directors to execute the RPCI’s strategic plan and will work with support staff, instructors and specialists to manage the nationwide delivery of retirement courses. Laura has experience in non-profit organizations and has been a board member of the IFSC Dublin Inner City Trust since 2017.
Martina Mahon has been appointed as an auditing and insurance partner in the financial services division of the auditing, accounting, advisory and tax firm Mazars. She joined Mazars in 2018 before working at EY. Since joining Mazars, she has worked exclusively for several large insurance clients. She is an insurance specialist with 20 years of experience leading teams coordinating national, cross-border and international audits, as well as assisting insurers with regulation and accounting. In her new role as a partner at Mazars, Martina and her colleagues will continue to develop the Mazars insurance portfolio and services and work on a range of clients in the life, non-life and reinsurance sectors. At the same time, new customer relationships are established and colleagues are supported in developing their skills and technical expertise.
