Bridgton Public Library online, pickup and delivery services

The Bridgton Public Library continues to provide limited services as it faces changes in the community during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our building will be closed to the public, but we will offer contact-free delivery and collection of books until May. If you want, we can also offer a home delivery service by post (we will confirm your home address in our records and send you mail), ”reported library officials.

The pick-up times are Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Simply ring the doorbell! Please call (207-647-2472) and leave a message or email ([email protected]) to notify library staff if you are interested in these options.

BPL is changing opening hours from normal operations to give employees time to walk through the shelves, collect your books, and package them. BPL recommends using the online catalog to “hold” items. This is the fastest way for BPL to get your books to you.

“We can also offer to-go bags for children and adults! If you need your username or bank account number, or would like to order to-go bags, please call, leave a message or email [email protected] Do you need to reset your password? We can do that too, ”reported library officials. “We are working to put in place secure procedures for accepting donated material. Please be patient and know how much we value your donations.”

BPL employees have thought about the best way to educate the public about the things they will need at home. As always, BPL has online resources including eBooks and audiobooks through CloudLibrary and Digital Maine databases, links to government websites with updated and accurate information, educational websites with fun and stimulating activities for children and families, and community resources with additional information on the Unemployment and legal aid.

Miss Samantha has also published activities and challenges on FaceBook and InstaGram.

BPL is pleased to offer zoom exercises for those who want to try it out in a supportive setting. This is every Tuesday through May from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. You can use your computer, tablet, iPad, smartphone, or touch-tone phone to try it out.

BPL also offers small business workshops, virtual events for writers in Maine, to-go bags for your home, and technical assistance by appointment.

BPL continues to offer WiFi access around the clock in its parking lot and in the courtyard. Please keep BPL in mind if you need a car learning hotspot for those who have students in their homes but don’t have internet access.
