2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja is a pickup monster with 1,050 lb-ft of torque
If your huge trucking needs are greater than most of the others, the 2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja might fit the ticket well. Shelby American’s latest riff of Ford’s burly pickups, the new Super Baja, is based on the already popular three-quarter-ton truck but has over 1,000 lb-ft of torque for serious off-road and towing potential.
Shelby starts with a new Ford F-250 Lariat Ultimate 4 × 4 as a donor car. The 6.7 liter power stroke V8 turbodiesel stays here, delivering 475 horsepower at 2,600 rpm and 1,050 lb-ft of torque at just 1,600 rpm.The 10-speed automatic transmission also stays.
It’s all paired with a Shelby by FOX performance suspension system with adjustable upper wishbones, a custom BDS lift system and front radius arms, plus a FOX 2.0 dual steering stabilizer. The front coilovers come with adjustable FOX 2.5 reservoirs and adjustable backup shock absorbers, while the rear thread adjustable FOX 2.5 shock absorbers come with piggyback reservoirs.
18-inch custom wheels are wrapped in sturdy 37-inch BFG KM3 rubber. The result, the company says, is a truck that drives off-road as seriously at home as it does on the road.
Outwardly, there are a few ways how it is clear that you are driving something special. There is a new front bumper made of powder-coated black steel, which is equipped with two points and ventilation slots. Shelby also adds a curved 40-inch LED light bar and two 11.75-inch LED drive lights, as well as a functional Ram Air Hood with exhaust port.
There is a matching steel bumper and two additional 11.75-inch LED drive lights on the back. Painted fender flares and a painted radiator grille, a Super Baja Chase Rack system with a 50-inch LED light bar and not just two spare wheel and tire holders as well as XL power stages with rock sliders and lights complete the offer. Shelby then throws in powder-coated exhaust tips, a spray bed liner, deeply tinted windows, and a special exterior shield.
Inside is a full leather retrim with accent stitching and special Shelby logos. There is custom carbon fiber on the dashboard and doors with embroidered floor mats. The gauges are made of stainless steel and there are billet racing pedals. There’s also no shortage of Shelby Super Baja badges, as well as engine and dashboard serial numbers.
Only 250 of the 2021 Shelby F-250 Super Baja will be produced. Prices start at $ 125,805 including the F-250 dispenser. It is sold through selected dealers in Tuscany and at Ford in the USA.
